Our ministry is to maximize the benefits by identifying the talent, fully develop it which fulfills God's plan on the person's life, gives the person a sense of self-worth and also minimize the cost (social deficits) by social skills training through cognitive behaviour therapy.

ASD Christian Fellowship at Cafe/Airport

Dear Aspies,


I am going to start a Christian fellowship for Aspies in Hong Kong.


Location:

 We are going to meet at an interesting cafe as suggested by members.   Each time probably at a different cafe/Airport Terminal 2.

Time:

 Biweekly on Sat, 2-5pm

The purpose:

  • To share about life experience, difficulties in career or social aspects.  
  • Receive feedback on social skills if you wish.  
  • Learn about the Gospel and the Christian Leadership skills.


Target Audience:

 Age: 24+
Criteria: Socially challenged
Education: Bachelor degree and fluent in English
Work Experience: 1 year+

Please drop me an email if you're interested to join.  We'll start the fellowship once we have 8-10 people interested.

Workshop and Support Group for Adult High Functioning Autism/Asperger Syndrome/PDD

Location: Mu Min Cumberland Presbyterial Church, 東涌富東商場二樓

Date: TBC (3 sessions on alternative Saturdays of Dec to Jan., 2014)
               
               

Time: 10am to 4pm  (includes a one -and-half hour lunch break and two 15 min break within the 2 hour morning and afternoon workshops)



Cost: $1400

Pre-requisite:

  • Bachelor degree
  • Able to read English newspaper articles and understand English movies without subtitle.  
  • 30 minutes assessment on autistic traits over the phone is included.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own social cases that I have difficulties in for case study and group  discussions.


Group Size: 8-12

Topics:

  • Indepth understanding of Asperger Syndrome and psychotherapy through videos from Dr. Tony Attwood and other Aspie mentors
  • Social Skills Training and Behaviour Analysis based on group discussion on complex social situations using case study
  • Case Study to learn subtle social cues through facial expression and body language
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy on "Been there, done that.  Try this"
  • Movies on Adult with Asperger Syndrome

Course are conducted using mostly English materials and lectured in Cantonese
